This Friday is First Friday. The event runs from 5-9pm, but I'll be open early...by 3:00. I will have some brand new "fusion foto blocs".
December was quite an exciting month for many reasons.
One of my oil paintings, "In the Bag" received top prize: "Best Representational Award", at the Attleboro Arts Museum Members' Exhibit, amongst work from more than one hundred artists.
Two photographs from the "Colors of White" made it on NBC's designer television show, NEW YORK's "Open House". Both "White Chambers" and "Bliss" are above the fireplace, and my "fusion foto bloc" kaleidoscopes are in the family room.
I completed my first oil painting commission portraying cooties, entitled "Oh Darn, You rolled a Three Again".
And now for my final report on "THE GOAL" for 2013...top paint every day (do I hear a drum roll?) I managed to paint 359 days, missing 6. It was quite a challenge and at times it felt like a ridiculous quest, especially during some of the very busy weeks. At the end, it was a motivator. Although many days were just putting a few strokes on a painting, other days I entered the studio with the idea of doing very little, and painting for hours.
So, what's my goal for 2014?After generous feedback, I have set my goal to complete one toy oil painting every month! I very much look forward to the challenge and I am already brainstorming on which characters to portray.
